Computer Based Testing

In partnership with the Professional Testing Corporation (PTC), ABRET is pleased to announce the written EEG and EP exams and the CNIM exam will be offered at 1000 LaserGrade testing centers throughout the US and Canada beginning in May 2007.

LaserGrade is the largest US owned and operated computer-based testing network in North America. Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, LaserGrade offers proctored computer-based test administration for occupational and professional licensure and certification, IT certification and the Federal Aviation Administration using its own secure network and software.

Professional Testing Corporation (PTC), based in New York, was founded in 1983 to provide professional organizations of all sizes with quality psychometric services. Over the years PTC has expanded its range of services to include certification and licensure testing, self assessment, international testing, psychometric counseling and statistical analysis services.

The American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) is the credentialing board for EEG, Evoked Potential, and Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring Technologists. ABRET has been credentialing technologists for over 40 years.

Following submission and acceptance of an application through the Professional Testing Corporation, candidates will be able to schedule to take the exam within the two week testing window at one of the LaserGrade sites at their own convenience.

Testing dates will be increasing from two to thirty per year. Test results will be sent to the candidates approximately four weeks from the close of the testing session. An increase in exam fees will take affect for the 2007 exams.
