CNIM EXAMINATION PROGRAM EARNS NATIONAL ACCREDITATION

The American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) is pleased to announce that the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) has granted accreditation to the ABRET CNIM program for a period of five years.

ABRET maintains a voluntary credentialing program for technologists monitoring neurophysiologic functioning during surgical procedures. Success on a comprehensive examination that measures recognized competencies culminates in the awarding of a Certification in Neurophysiological Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM).

Accreditation by the NCCA demonstrates that a program has undergone an independent review of their practices and meets established standards. This accreditation confirms that the ABRET CNIM examination is psychometrically sound and is a symbol of quality.

NCCA has accredited programs from approximately 150 professions and occupations, including 60 healthcare professions. For a complete list of accredited programs, see www.noca.org.

ABRET is the credentialing board for EEG, Evoked Potential, Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring Technologists and Long Term Monitoring Technologists. ABRET has been credentialing technologists for over 40 years.
